The culture of New Orleans is much like its most famous dish—a rich gumbo with influences from its French, Spanish, African, and West Indies roots. NOLA is to be enjoyed with friends, a place to let your hair down.

As a city with a rhythm and attitude of its own, the diverse stew of cultures has become a smorgasbord unique to NOLA. Try them all on the Jazz Fest grounds.

Do you know the difference?

Cajuns are ethnically of Acadian descent—French settlers from Canada that made their way to Louisiana after their exile in the mid-1700s. There, they became known as Cajuns (say “Acadian” out loud fast and you’ll see where the word comes from), and today are known for their accents, delicious food, and love of dance.

Creole as a term is harder to define. Sometimes described by historians as a group with African, European, Hispanic, or Caribbean ancestry, or those born in New Orleans of Spanish or French descent. But everyone agrees they are the cultural melting pot woven into the very essence of NOLA, its history, traditions, and food.

We’re bringing you the best of the Creole food scene. Indulge in tasty NOLA-themed bites and specialty cocktails. Dance the night away to a live band at a seafood boil, followed by cocktails at CEO Member Boysie Bollinger’s penthouse.

Dine in the heart of the French Quarter for lunch at Tableau, and savor authentic French-Creole cuisine—a flavor medley of the Caribbean, France, Spain, Portugal, and Ivory Coast, created with regional ingredients at their finest.

Start the day off right with an exclusive gospel brunch at The Church at Hôtel Peter & Paul.

Don your dinner jacket and kick back with delicious dining at Galatoire’s. You won’t find a more loyal staff anywhere else, with many having worked here for over 50 years!

Settle in at the Four Seasons and check out the CEO Market Place with Krewe and other pop-up shops.

Kick things off with an afternoon of Learning & Libations, complete with a live jazz band. Richard Campanella, renowned author, New Orleans geographer, and professor, will enlighten us with an overview of the city’s rich heritage.

Enjoy a personal welcome by CEO Member Bill Rau to tour M.S. Rau, established in 1912 and one of the most-respected fine art, antique, and jewelry galleries in North America.

The Princess and the Frog (2009)
by John Musker, Ron Clements

Tiana and Naveen go on a magical journey set in the Roaring Twenties in New Orleans.

Mutinous Women: How French Convicts Became Founding Mothers of the Gulf Coast
by Joan DeJean

The women exiled on the ship La Mutine, in 1719, carved out a place for themselves in the colonies and were instrumental in the building of New Orleans.
